Every year I lose my poppy pin before November 11th. Sometimes, if I have been very clever, I will have a back-up waiting at home. This year, frustrated with the loss of my poppy mere days before the 11th and without a clever back-up, I decided to make my own flower.

Not the most carefully made bloom, but I think it's pretty darn cute.
I've been so busy lately with school related stuff (see the crazy 200-page binders from the last post) so I've been slow to get paintings done. Here are two under-paintings that will eventually get worked on some more- one stage at a time. There's something nice about taking time to complete a piece and consider it as it develops.
